just another day..

Knowing that I don't have school until 12:45 today gives me all the more reason to blog right now. This morning was great, slept in until 8:45, made Beau a lunch then he was off to work. I normally have a music class at 10:15 but the test isn't until next class period so wooohooo. I love my classes this semester especially my Communications class and my Nutrition class. Being in my Interpersonal Communications class has really sparked an interest for me and maybe I'll pursue a major in Communications (that's what Beau is rooting for also.)

I work every Tues, Thurs, and Saturday mornings from 8-12, and its the perfect job. I'm a Student Event Coordinator so what we do is set up for different events going on on campus. This is the first semester they opened up an earlier shift so there are not many events going on in the early mornings, therefore I get lots of time to do homework/talk to my boss/plan out my life. I love having good, meaningful talks with people and my boss is just the person. We last discussed things about the gospel and why students/kids do the things they do. We came to it being the parents, ok, not solely, but a big part being the parents influence. She gave an example of her younger sister who wears bikini's and is a mom of three young girls. How is she going to tell her girls that they can't wear bikini's because its immodest if she does it herself? I'm so grateful for the Strength of Youth pamphlet and the guidance that the Prophet of our Church gives us. It's not that bikini bathing suits are so terrible, it's that the Prophet has asked us to be modest, a simple command that we should willingly obey. There is a bigger law under that concept, and that is the principle of Obedience. I so hope that one day I can be a good example of Obedience to my children. After having this discussion it made me think of my parents and what great examples they are to me. My dad LOVES riding dirt bikes, yes they have caused him MUCH pain, but they are his life passion. When my young, convert, Dad was 19 years old he had the choice of riding professional motocross or serving a mission for our Church. He choose serving a mission and his life has been blessed because of that decision. He is such an example to my brothers, because they see and know how much my dad LOVES dirt bikes, and lives to ride but knowing that he choose a mission over something he loved shows a LOT to them. My mom is also a big example to me, all throughout growing up she never compromised her words or went against what she said. She was a living example of Obedience to me. By watching my mom's example of goodness, helps me to want to be better. She is so faithful in her temple attendance and before I got sealed I had no understanding except that it was the right thing to do. My mom always said "I will never miss a week of going to the temple." Since Beau and I have been up here at school we haven't missed a week either, and I truly have seen the blessing from temple service. I love my parents :)

NEXT TOPIC: I had been telling Beau that I wanted to go "somewhere beautiful", didn't matter where to. On Sunday Beau said grab a jacket we're going! We headed up to Kelly Canynon for the day, off roaded, walked around and took some awesome pictures! This Sunday we are going to drive up to Mesa Falls with Sean and Nicolette after Conference. I never realized how beautiful Idaho really is.
