hello monday!
it was hard to get up this morning because the past two weekends have been three day weekends..all good things come to an end right?
this weekend was a success and i know i say that every weekend but let me tell you a few reasons why..
1.) beau and i have been working on my etsy projects and they are coming right along.. i have two finished projects and i'm tempted to put them up but i think i should wait until i finish all seven. wouldn't that be better?
even if they aren't a huge hit with the etsy world they have been so much fun to make and i love the feeling of dedicating time to something i LOVE.
2.) this sunday's relief society lesson was amazing!
she started off by drawing a picture of a tree trunk..showing the different rings (which we all know represent a year of growth..)
then she drew of picture of an airplane and asked if we were a pilot of a plane and were facing a huge storm how would you get through it?
as i was thinking about these two and how they were connected i thought that when we are faced with trials in our life which resemble turbulence or our own personal storms sometimes we think its best to get through them the fastest we can, but what we need to realize is that we need to take a step back and go through slowly. we learn from every trial and we might not realize why we are going through what we are at the time but Heavenly Father has a plan for everything. we experience things we need to at the exact time that we need to.
going back to the rings in the tree stump.. a tree's purpose isn't to grow to be the tallest tree ever but it is meant to be nourished and strong. as we can see from the picture above some rings are smaller and some rings are bigger but they still represnet a year. we need to make sure that we are taking time for the important things and getting proper nourishment where we need it to make sure we are growing STRONG instead of just "getting through things".
i loved this lesson because it really made me think. do i do things just for the sake of getting them done? Yes. and how can i be better at "enjoying the journey" so to speak instead of just doing the daily routine..This is something I will be working on!
3.) It was Justin's birthday this weekend so two days of celebration, holla! we went to Stockman's saturday night which is a steak house, anyone who knows me knows I am not a huge fan of mean, but i got a delicious pasta dish and just starred at all the guys while they ate "all you can eat steak" watching them at round 4 made me feel sick FOR them. i love love love the marshalls i know i've already blogged about them before but i'll just say one more time that they are the best.
after dinner they came over and we just talked.. talked about a.lot.of.stuff. (HA)
friends we will have for a lifetime!
4.) we watched pond skimming for a total of 20 minutes and it was f.r.e.e.z.i.n.g
the end.
make it a great week!
