day 3 - roatan, honduras
maybe
we're biased to honduras because this is where beau served his mission,
but this place was absolutely gorgeous. we took an all day tour and it was perfect. there were only 2
other couples in our group so it was super intimate. roatan is a island
off the shore of honduras. people on the island aren't allowed to have
children ON the island, so they have to go to the mainland, have their
children, then come back. interesting, huh? so no one is technically
"from" the island.
our
first stop was pirates of the caribbean zip-lining. when we went
zip-lining in puerto vallarta there were probably 30 people in our group
so we waited a long time for each one. here it was like boom.boom.boom.
we'd literally get off of one and hop onto the other. beau and i
doubled a lot and videoed the whole time!
we
finished the day off by going to the parrot tree plantation resort,
turquoise bay beach to relax and swim for a while, we visited the iguana
farm and ended with getting tropical banana soda which is beau's
favorite from the mission. honestly, don't be fooled by the iguanas
vicious look. these guys are calm. i don't think they would allow
tourists to come feed these iguanas if they knew it was just a lawsuit
waiting to happen.
at the end of the day beau and i were plotting out a place to buy a vacation home...after we retire that is :)
be back again, roatan.
