last day -  cayman islands
we got off the boat in the early a.m. and had until 1 p.m. until our excursion started so we decided to kill time and take a taxi to seven mile beach. the wind was blowing, but we were grateful because it was blazing hot. we walked up and down the beach and then decided to try out a grand cayman "empenada" filled with chicken and island sauce. i was a little scared not knowing what i was eating but it was so good that even after our tour we stopped to get another.
our tour was the stringray city dealio. they took us to a sand bar in the middle of the ocean and let us interact with the sting rays. i wasn't expecting them to be so big but they barely fit in my arms with both arms outstretched. once again our tour was super small so we each got to spend lots of time holding them. i seriously felt like a little 12 year old kid, with my big goggles on,  swimming around in the ocean chasing after the sting rays. and honestly..beau says the sting rays liked me because they kept coming to me and not him ;) after we held the stingrays they took us to the coral gardens to snorkel. minus all the salt water we swallowed, i loved seeing the sea life. what a world under there! we took most of the pictures with our underwater camera..so i'll have to wait and see the hidden gems on there ;)
